Come sing with us!
The New Haven Oratorio Choir, a community-based, auditioned chamber choir, offers its members an opportunity to sing and learn in a vibrant environment, to inspire audiences with superb performances of old and new music, to educate our performers and the public with a repertoire of well-known and lesser known works, and to promote and support living composers.
The choir invites singers of all voice parts (SATB) to audition
for a position in the choir. Rehearsals for the Fall 2018 season begin September 5th and continue every Wednesday in preparation for our December concert. We will be performing choral legend Alice Parker's "Angels and Challengers"-- a New England premiere!--and Randall Thompson's "Frostiana" .
Audition dates are Friday, August 31st, 4-6 pm by appointment and Saturday September 1st, 12-2 pm by appointment. Other times can be arranged if neither date is convenient. Auditions are held at Church of the Redeemer, 185 Cold Spring St. in New Haven, our usual practice space.
Not sure about singing with the New Haven Oratorio Choir? We are holding an Open Rehearsal on Wednesday Sept. 12th from 8 to 10 PM at Church of the Redeemer in New Haven. This is an excellent opportunity to experience what singing with a well-established chamber choir is like (you can just observe or sing along with us) to find out if you would like to join us. We are seeking singers of all voice types. Refreshments will follow the rehearsal.
Appointments for auditions can be made after the rehearsal.
Thank you for attending our Spring 2018 concert "I Was Glad." We're glad you came!
