Sing We and Chant It

Masses and Madrigals

Our May 11th performance of polyphonic sacred and secular music from the Renaissance era included Victoria's Missa O Magnum Mysterium and his motet of the same name, Palestrina's Missa Aeterna Christi Munera, a Gregorian chant and  madrigals by Dowland, Gibbons, Morely and others.

Angels and Challengers

Our winter 2018 concert featured "Frostiana"--seven country songs by Robert Frost set to music by Randall Thompson--and "Angels and Challengers"--five poems by May Sarton set to music by Alice Parker.

For the Parker piece the choir was accompanied by a woodwind ensemble and piano.  It was a New England premiere!

The 2018-Spring concert, "I Was Glad," featured an exciting selection of English church music by Elgar, Britten, Parry, Stanford, Howells and others.  Most of the pieces took advantage of our venue's magnificent organ.

2016 – 2017 Season

The 2017-Winter concert featured  a lively performance of Johannes Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzes Op.52 & 65 accompanied by 4-hand piano.

The 2017-Spring concert "Northern Lights" featured  selections by composers from the northern countries.  Pieces included choral works by Grieg, Pärt, Backer-Grøndahl, Gjeilo, Arnesen, Salkeld and others.

Our 2016-Winter concert on December 9th featured a performance of Fauré's Requiem accompanied by a chamber orchestra.  We also sang pieces by Tibbets, Schroeder, Batterham and our Artistic Director Daniel Shaw.
